Last week’s alphabet challenge was I for Igloo. I don’t have any igloo images in my stash so it took a while for this idea to form in my head, but once I knew what I wanted to do it was actually a very quick and easy make.

Lots of Love card
I normally tend towards symmetry in my card designs, and like to place things in the middle. I followed a sketch to create this card, to challenge myself to do something a little different.

Christmas Card Challenge - Jingle Bells
Already on week 11 of the Christmas card challenge, and the theme this week is ‘Jingle Bells.’
I’ve been looking for a reason to use this cheerful chipboard topper for a while, so I decided to go with a non-traditional colour scheme.
The card base is Magenta Madness, with coordinating DSP matted on top.
I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped these three-step bells on the lower half using Pretty Peacock ink. I then made a hole in the card at the top of the bells and threaded some gold ribbon through so it looked like the bells were hanging off the ribbon.
I then mounted the panel to the front of the card and adhered the sentiment over the ribbon.
It’s a bit unconventional as far as Christmas cards go but I love the finished item!

Thinking of you card
This fun fold format pops up a lot on this blog as it really is one of my favourites and is a great way to show off DSP.
To create the card I took a Mint Macaron card base and folded the front flap in half to create a zig zag shape.
Next I took a piece of Highland Heather measuring 93x136mm and a piece of DSP measuring 87x136mm and wrapped a piece of purple ribbon around the DSP before adhering it to the card. I then mounted the panel onto the front of the card, taking care only to put glue on one half.
I stamped the sentiment from the Darling Labels stamp set onto scrap white and punched it out with the Darling Label Punch. I then punched two more shapes from Mint Macaron to create a mat and mounted the sentiment onto the front of the card using Dimensionals. A little bit of bling finished the card off.

Puppy Love card
Another alphabet challenge, this one was D for Dog.
I started this card by stamping the puppy on a piece of scrap in black Memento ink, then colouring him in with Stampin’ Blends. I then punched the image out and mounted it on a gold circle.
I then took a Melon Mambo card base and covered the front with this gold writing DSP. The paper was actually from a 4x4 block so I used two pieces and added the ribbon across the card to hide the join.
I stamped the sentiment on a scrap and punched the end with the Banner punch, before mounting both the sentiment and dog image onto the card using dimensionals.
This card could be used as a Valentine’s card, or just any occasion for a dog lover.

Best of Cluck card
Here’s another card from the Alphabet Challenge. As you have probably guessed, this one was from the ‘C’ week for Chicken.
I don’t own any chicken themed stamps or dies so I thought I’d try my hand at a bit of punch art. I started with punching a circle in yellow card and sliced a portion off to create the body. The tail feathers were created with the splashes from the Whale Builder punch and a heart for the wing. I used a portion of the decorative ribbon punch for the top of his head and a tiny sliver of orange card for the beak. I sponged a little ink across the body for texture.
Once my chicken was assembled, I used my Cricut’s drawing function to create the sentiment on a piece of white card, then using Distress Ink I stencilled the clouds across the top of the card. I added a piece of DSP, the chicken, then finally drew his legs on in black.
The image was them mounted onto yellow card and centred on a white card base.
I’m not in love with the finished product but it was a good brain workout trying to create a chicken out of punch shapes!
